Main Street Post, vol. 1
A transportive perfume, Agatha All Along (finally!), and new artwork for my office
You’re reading Main Street Post - a quarterly series that features items, experiences, and news that have kept the Disney magic alive in my day-to-day life. If you’d like to read more of these posts, feel free to check out the archive.
Happy Friday, readers! Today, I’m comin’ atcha with a different kind of post. I mentioned a couple days ago how important it is for me to keep the Disney magic alive in my day-to-day life, so what better way to do that than to share a few things that have helped me do so over the last few months.
I’ll be posting a new edition every quarter (with one or two sprinkled in between), and each post will contain a smattering of different topics, items, and general housekeeping things that are worth mentioning. Alright, let’s begin!
Books
A handful of Little Golden Books I’ve acquired recently, including Pirates of the Caribbean, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Figment, and I’m a Unicorn (not a Disney story but it’s illustrated by one of my favorite Disney artists, Joey Chou). I love that they publish books based on park attractions. So fun, and the artwork is such a treat.
I read quite a few non-Disney books each month so if you’re curious about those, you can view them here!
Entertainment
Livestreams of Mickey’s Not-So Scary Halloween Party because I have all the FOMO right now. I recently stumbled across Daily FastPass and really enjoyed their livestream from Tuesday’s party (and everyday afterward). They’re live from the parks Monday through Friday so be sure to check them out!
Agatha All Along (on Disney+) - finally! I’ve been dreaming of this show since I first saw WandaVision a few years ago and after some waiting, it dropped this week. Just in time for spooky season!
A newly released album, A Whole New Sound, that has millennials, including myself, absolutely shaking. It features 12 songs performed by a handful of artists you might recognize, like Simple Plan, Bowling for Soup, and Yellowcard. Here’s one of my favorites from the album:
Wearables
The Disney Store’s Mickey and Friends Quarter-Zip Fleece Top, which I’ve had my eye on for months after I originally saw it earlier this year. I’m so glad the Disney Store brought them back, even though they sold out super quickly again (twice!). Hopefully they bring them back soon!
Ellis Brooklyn Super Amber perfume because it smells exactly like the Animal Kingdom Lodge lobby. It’s the perfect dose of Disney.
Main Street Tourist’s “Not So Scary” t-shirt, which is a new release for the Halloween season. It’s so fun! Plus, I immediately enter into “Boo to You” song and dance when I see it so that’s an added bonus.
At home
The Disneyland tea cup and saucer from the D23 merchandise release. It was designed in collaboration with one of my favorite Disney artists, Ashley Taylor, and is one of those items that I’m terrified to use because I’d be so disappointed if I chipped it or something. But I did use it once this week for my afternoon tea so baby steps, I guess?
Grabbing some fun Haunted Mansion-inspired art and stickers from another one of my favorite Disney artists, Hayden Evans. I cannot wait to hang my new print in my office.
Drinks + food
This isn’t so much Disney-related but since the release of autumnal beverages at Starbucks last month, I’ve been getting the drink I got the entire time we were at the parks last fall - a grande iced Americano (in a venti cup) with pumpkin cream cold foam. It’s bringing back all the memories!
News + events
Visiting Hotel Del Coronado in July, which was such a lovely experience. I wrote about how the hotel inspired the exterior design of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa on this post.
Keeping up with all the D23 announcements in August! On this post, I reviewed some of the things I expected to see and hear about throughout the weekend, along with a few that totally took me by surprise. Disney’s got their work cut out for them!
Finalizing Magic Badges all the way out to January. I’ve got some of my favorite designs saved for the next few months so if you’d like to support Magic, Noted and receive a magic mail delivery every month, consider becoming a paid subscriber!
Wishin’ for
A book that hit shelves this week, Directing at Disney: The Original Directors of Walt's Animated Films by Don Peri and Pete Doctor…
…and another book that will be published on October 1st, Walt Disney Treasures: Personal Art and Artifacts from The Walt Disney Family Museum by Walter D. Miller and the wonderful, highly-knowledgable staff at the museum.
Are there any Disney-related items or experiences on your wishlist? This might be a dangerous request, but let me know below in the comments!
Posts you might have missed
That’s all for now! I hope you enjoyed this more casual, lifestyle-oriented post. Like I mentioned earlier this week, it’s easy to get bummed out when you’ve got a case of the Disney Blues™ but keeping the magic alive through the little things - books, a Starbucks beverage, and maybe a lil’ shopping here or there - is one sure way to combat them.
Let me know in the comments below - how do you bring Disney fun, nostalgia, and magic to your day-to-day life, especially if you’re not a regular at the parks?

Disney did not have to go so hard with that new album. I'm obsessed. I'm hoping to make time for Agatha All Along. The casting intrigued me even though I know nothing about the story. My favorite way to keep tied into the magic is through my kids, of course. We've only taken them to Disney once but we watch shows on Disney+ all day long. I also love wearing oversized t-shirts inspired by the parks. We have a few coffee table books featuring the art of some of our favorite Disney movies and I love them so much. They're beautiful books to flip through occasionally.
